Abstract
While political graffiti helps reveal authentic public sentiments and broader socio-political phenomena, related mixed methods research is lacking, let alone the integration strategies. This article contributes to the field of mixed methods research by introducing a mixed methods longitudinal ethnographic research design, utilizing Lennon Wall Hong Kong as an illustrative example. It integrates: (1) quantitative and qualitative textual analyses of the Wall messages from all districts; (2) in-depth interviews with the participants; and (3) observation at the Wall sites, using a joint display example. It is hoped that the joint display serves as a meaningful guiding structure for integrating various research methods in political graffiti research and inspires other future mixed methods research to generate nuanced insights into complex phenomena.
