Abstract
In a natural vibration analysis of a structural system, the conventional dynamic flexibility (receptance) matrix in series forms is re-examined. The convergence may be accelerated to a large extent by using the condensed stiffness and mass matrices of the system. Examples involving beams and plates are given. Because only physical coordinates are involved and the size of the system matrices are independent of the number of normal modes taken, the method is suitable for dynamic substructure analysis.
