Abstract
The deployment issues of the current IP-based mobility management in a distributed and dynamic mobility management approach are being discussed in the IETF MEXT working group. There are limitations with the current IP-based mobility management deployments due to the increasing data traffic volume and trends in mobile networks evolution. Various solutions have been proposed to address these limitations. Distributed and dynamic mobility management provide a suitable framework to optimize mobility management to address these limitations. This paper proposes two optimization schemes to overcome the problems of long route especially for long-duration traffic, to reduce end-to-end delay and handover latency, and to remove the constraint of limited coverage area.
