Abstract
本文探討組織理論叢林，追尋組織的後設理論時，發現組織理論的不共通性令到這個嘗試不可能成功。反之，筆者提出以古印度隱喻「瞎子摸象」說明組織的複雜特徵，並提供一些克服這種不共通性的建議。作者認為，組織理論發展關鍵不在於提出新的綜合，而是要針對同一種組織現象，運用相同的學術語言和概念，澄清自己的研究立場和時間觀，才能產生實質性研究貢獻，並對社會福利組織的發展的研究帶來新的啟示。
